Summer Fun

Wow I've been slacking on my blog updates, so here's what we've been up to this month.

Fourth of July we went to the Parade in Provo & the girls had a blast, I think their favorite part was the police on their motorcycles & the giant balloons that have about 30 people holding them down.
The girls didn't want to look away for anything!
 The best of friends!
(And I didn't even tell them to pose or anything!)

After the parade we met up with Jeramey's sister & her family to go swimming & have some American Fried Chicken (a.k.a. KFC, ha ha).  After swimming the kids were all playing while us adults sat on the patio playing cards & we all watched fireworks.  This was the first year aerial fireworks were legal in Utah so just about every house had them going, it was a great show.

The next weekend we took a family trip down to St. George for the Heatstroker softball tournament.  The girls always love it because the hotel we stay at down there serves a hot breakfast & they get to eat as much bacon as the want.  They also love that they get to stay up way past their bed time.  They call this tournament the Heatstroker because usually the temp gets up to about 110 degrees Fahrenheit, way to hot to be playing softball in so instead they start playing Friday night & play all through the night, take a break after sunrise & begin again Saturday night.  Usually the championship is about 5 or 6 Sunday morning.  This year Jer's team made it to 4am Sunday morning but ended up throwing the game because everyone was way too exhausted to keep playing.  Babies! Ha ha

Grandma & Grandpa Street came down too so Boston had a blast always having someone to hold her!

I loved this picture of me & Brynlee watching the softball game, until I noticed that she had chewed up crackers squeezing out of her teeth...Kids!
This is us waiting in between games.
Brooklynn has the biggest crush on one of Jeramey's teammates sons, Tanner, he's 11 & so patient with her!  She chased him around teasing him the whole time!
This face was just to goofy not to share!  I'll use it for blackmail one day when she's dating, ha ha!

The trip was a blast & it was so nice to get away as a family!

The other day I took the girls to McDonald's for lunch, they brought their happy meal boxes home & Brooklynn decided we should use them to make houses for the little Strawberry Shortcake figurines they had received as their Happy Meal toy.  So this is how they turned out...
Brooklynn made the window all by herself!
We used an exacto knife for the door, cut a hair rubber band & tied some knots in it for a door knob.
Then we used some green foam paper to make tile, beads, blankets & pillows for the figurines.
Brooklynn has actually kept it & still plays with it, you never know what a kid will turn into a toy.

Brynlee on the other hand wanted to do her's completely by herself but ended up just being so excited that she was being allowed to use the scissors all by herself that she cut the entire thing up into tiny pieces.
Again, you never know what a kid will turn into a toy.
(And if you're wondering why she's naked, I'm sorry, that's just Brynlee!)

For Pioneer day I attempted to take the girls on a day trip up the canyon to have a fire, roast marshmallows & hot dogs but when we got up there we, and by that I mean I, couldn't get a fire going so we ended up bagging it & coming home to roast the marshmallows over the stove & cooking the hot dogs in the microwave.  Better luck next time!  At least we got a pretty ride through American Fork Canyon!

We've also been at the pool a bit, not as much as I'd like but it's just a bit harder with Boston.  Here's some pictures from our most recent trip.
This is at the Lindon City pool.  It has a lazy river & some water slides so the girls have a blast!

Other exciting news... Boston is crawling!  You will look away for two seconds & she's scooted away!  This is where I found her the other day.
Here are a couple other pictures I've snapped of her recently.
Playing dress-up!
A girl after her Daddy's heart!

I almost forgot we also went on a fun hike up to Stewart Falls!  It was awesome, Brooklynn made it all they way but Brynlee had to be carried back on Jer's shoulders.  We took my brothers Johnathan & Joseph & they were super fun!

  Well, until next time!
