Kindergarten

Last night was Brooklynn's Welcome to School night where she got to meet her teacher Ms Harding & see her classroom & get generally acclimated.  She was so excited the drinking fountain was her size!  Afterwards we went for a celebratory dinner at Chili's & the girls had a blast.  Brooklynn laid out all of her clothes for school so everything was ready to go but had a hard time falling asleep since she was so excited, finally she conked out but not until about 10pm.

Then the big day came....  Brooklynn's first day of Kindergarten!  After all the shopping, workbook doing & waiting it finally came!  Brooklynn was so excited!  She usually sleeps 'til about 8:30am but at 7:30 this morning she was jumping on my bed, already in her clothes, going on & on about how excited she was for school!

I made eggs & toast for breakfast & then after drinking just her milk Brooklynn decided she only wanted two bites of food, ha ha & all I could think was "so much for a healthy, filling breakfast before your first day"!  She was definitely up for doing another 3 pages in her Kindergarten Prep work book though.  We took her & it was so funny the halls were just filled with parents of kindergarteners.  Brooklynn went to her class just fine & didn't look back once.  I was so brave until we started driving away from the school, then the tears came.  Brynlee looked at me & asked why I was crying I responded "Because I just can't believe how grown up Brooklynn is & I just hope she has the best day!"  To which Brynlee said "Mom I told this yesterday!"  I can always count on Bryn to make me laugh!  It has now been an hour & a half & Brynlee has asked twice if it's time to go get Brooklynn.  I love that she misses her sissy.  One day down  two hundred & forty four to go!
