Growing up I used to love it when my mom would color with me! I used to love how she always picked the perfect colors & never scribbled out of the lines; I tried to color just like her but it never looked quite as good. We would always color Precious Moments coloring books too, so when Brooklynn asked me the other day to color holding up those same coloring books it was a kind of surreal moment.
It was so fun to sit there & have Brooklynn pick up each crayon I put down & want to color just like me!
Antoher fun thing we did recently, again thanks to McDonald's, was we used a soda cup to make a quiver for Brynlee's "arrows" a.k.a. school pencils. Her new favorite movie is The Swan Princess & for some reason has really fallin in love with Prince Derek & likes to pretend she's him chasing through the forest hunting The Great Animal. It's pretty cute, she ducks, rolls & darts around corners! Cup+hot glue+ribbon=hours of fun!
We also took the girls fishing on Saturday for their first time ever! It was a huge hit & they absolutely loved it!
Brynlee caught the first fish of the day but started freaking out when the fish was flipping around on the line so Brooklynn held it for the picture!
It wasn't too long after that Brooklynn had caught a fish of her own.
Jer took home the biggest fish of the day!
When I was taking this picture I just kept thinking of the
Trace Adkins song "Just Fishin."
If you haven't already heart it I highly recommend it!
Boston had a blast just chillin in the stroller & enjoying being outside.
She wasn't quite sure to make of the fishing flipping around.
The girls were kind of grossed out when it came time to fillet the fish, but all in all a good fishing trip!
Here's a couple other fun pictures from the last week!
Boston's new favorite thing is to climb up the stairs, down the hallway & stand at the overhang against the banister & yell 'til someone comes to take her downstairs where she starts that process all over again, it's hilarious to watch. I didn't want to put up a gate & trap everyone else in the family upstairs or downstairs so I figured I'd just teach her how to go up & down the stairs safely. And so far it's been total success! For those of you who haven't seen our house our stairs turn so there are two little landings she rest on if she needs.
Brynlee & her pillow pet, a.k.a. Tobi! Ha ha! These two are such snugglers they're perfect for eachother!
And last but not least the kids being creative with their jeep!
